Elections
General Information:
Since this is a simulator of the Australia Government system, we have two houses where debates on legislation and voting on them actually take place.Â
There are two houses in AustraliaSim:
The House of Representatives:
The Lower House
Has 13 Representatives:
Brisbane
Capricornia (Rest of Queensland)
Sydney
Cunningham (South from Sydney)
Cowper (Rest of New South Wales)
Melbourne
Hotham (East of Melbourne)
Nicholls (Rest of Victoria)
Clark (Tasmania)
Mayo (South Australia)
Swan (Western Australia)
Lingiari (Northern Territory)
Canberra
Gets Elected Every Term
By-Elections are run if a player is inactive or resigns.
The Senate
The Upper House
Has 6 Senators (One for Every State and Territory)
Parties appoint new Senators if theirs is inactive or resigns.
There are two types of elections to get into government:
General Elections
All House of Representative Seats are up for grabs.
Half the Senate Seats are also up for grabs.
They happen every 3 months.
By-Elections
Occur when a there is a vacancy in the House of Representatives (due to resignation or inactivity)
Happen During A Term of Parliament
Are only for specific seat(s).
Usually candidates for either of these elections run under a party, but there are also independents in parliament as well.
The elections in this simulator are also simulated with virtual voters. These virtual voters are influenced towards or against your party by 'modifiers'. They're called this because they modify your vote to be more in your favour. More on modifiers in the Modifier Guide section of this website.

Depending on the election, there will be a maximum amount of posts you can do during the campaign (the current max is 5). There are many different types of posts one can do to campaign:

With National and Electoral Posts, you can format them however you like, but the more effort put in, the more effective they are. Some common examples of posts include:
Speeches (type in a Reddit post, use italics for actions)
Posters (the higher quality and more edited, the better)
TV Advertisements (a lot of work, but give a lot of mods)
